To initiate the process of Election 2024, individuals are encouraged to complete an application form for Enrollment or Transfer of Vote, which is readily accessible on the official website of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). Alternatively, these forms can be procured free of cost from the District Election Commissioner’s office, Registration Officer’s office, Assistant Registration Officer’s office, or from the Display Centre Incharge. Alongside the completed form, applicants must furnish a copy of their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC). These documents should then be submitted to the respective District Election Commissioner, Registration Officer, or Assistant Registration Officer in the district of their choice, where they wish to have their name added to the voter list.
Form 21 is designated for individuals seeking to register or transfer their vote to a different constituency, ensuring their participation in the electoral process.
Conversely, Form 22 serves the purpose of raising objections or requesting the deletion of a particular vote, ensuring the integrity of the voter registry.
Furthermore, Form 23 facilitates the correction of any inaccuracies or discrepancies in personal particulars, thus ensuring accuracy and fairness in the electoral records.
ELIGIBILTY TO BE A VOTER in ELECTION 2024:
To qualify as a voter in an electoral area, an individual must meet the following criteria:
- (a) Citizenship: The person must be a citizen of Pakistan.
- (b) Age: The individual must be at least eighteen years old.
- (c) Possession of National Identity Card (NIC): The individual must possess a National Identity Card issued by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) before the deadline for submitting claims, objections, and applications for the preparation, revision, or correction of electoral rolls.
- (d) Mental Competency: The individual must not have been declared of unsound mind by a competent court.
- (e) Residency: The individual must either be a resident in the electoral area or be deemed as such according to section 27.
Explanation: Even if the validity period of the National Identity Card issued by NADRA has expired, it shall still be considered valid for the purpose of registering as a voter or casting a vote in an election..
